Tom Whitehead
Assistant Director - Community & Events, ShelterTom Whitehead is the Head of Community & Events at Shelter having worked in the charity sector for over 13 years. Through a mixture of charity owned and third party fundraising events, Tom has a wealth of experience of maximising fundraising potential for various organisations.
His approach is to balance detailed analysis with a human touch to truly engage supporters. Most recently, he project managed the Fundraising Portfolio Analysis at Breast Cancer Care which adopts a data driven approach to understand each product’s current and potential performance.

Jo Jones

Jo Jones
Head of Global Events and Major Giving Communications, SightsaversJo is the Head of Global Events and Major Giving Communications at Sightsavers. She has been at Sightsavers since 2006. Prior to joining, she worked at Sussex Wildlife Trust in a corporate fundraising role and prior to that, for Carewatch Care Services in a marketing and events role. Her degree in Philosophy has come in handy over the last two years when a philosophical approach to delivering events in the virtual world has been required. In pre-Covid times, Jo could be found running launch events in Washington or Malawi, or putting up exhibitions on the South Bank working with creative geniuses! Her current role includes overseeing the events function at Sightsavers as well as delivering communications for the charity’s corporate partners and managing the charity’s celebrity ambassadors.

Jenny Peat
Head of Community & Events Fundraising, SenseJenny is the Head of Community and Events Fundraising at Sense, a national charity that supports children and adults who are deafblind and have other complex disabilities. Managing both dispersed and office-based teams, she is responsible for raising over £1.5M of income across a range of events and income streams. She is passionate about delivering exceptional supporter experiences and developing new products and experiences for supporters to get involved in.
Before joining Sense in January 2018, Jenny had worked at Livability as well as in the London Volunteer Fundraising team at Cancer Research UK.

Kiera Ridge
Head of Events, Alzheimer's SocietyKiera is Head of Events at Alzheimer’s Society, leading a team to deliver a range of income generating sporting, mass participation and special events that fund support for people affected by dementia. As part of her role, Kiera also leads a cross-fundraising innovation team at the Society. She is passionate about the importance of knowing your supporters and using supporter insight to drive innovation and development within events and fundraising. Kiera has almost 15 years’ experience in Events Fundraising, previously leading Events and Community teams at Terrence Higgins Trust and British Lung Foundation.

I take part in a few running events myself – half marathons at most. As an events fundraiser, I’m always looking at and exploring new events in the charity sector to add to our portfolio at Tommy’s. I have a good understanding, mainly through our participants if what they value in an event.

Head of Fundraising & Engagement, Moorfields Eye CharityJoanne Green is Head of fundraising and engagement at Moorfields Eye Charity, looking after all mass fundraising income streams including events and community fundraising and individual giving. She has been at there for five years and is inspired every day by supporters of the charity who all have amazing stories to tell and reasons to fundraise to say thank you for treatment they or their loved ones receive at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
